Kelly Green Dress with Bolero
“You know the rules, don’t you?” Aodhan said dejectedly. In almost 200 years, no human had come close to catching him as he played his St. Patrick’s Day pranks. Yet, this young woman—in her festive, Kelly Green swing dress—had managed to trap him with a child’s toy. He couldn’t believe his luck!
“I get three wishes to use as I see fit,” she confirmed as she fiddled with the strings of her bolero jacket, which covered the sweetheart neckline of a bodice that flared into a wide skirt. It looked like something that would’ve been popular in the 50s, Aodhan thought distractedly. He remembered the practicality of the shoes from that era; the low wedges of kitten heels and the flat soles of two-toned Oxfords. They had been easy to mend.
“That’s right. So, let’s get on with it.”
The Leprechaun expected her to wish for infinite wealth or immortality or unending beauty. But the young woman surprised him—for the second time that day—when she carried his makeshift prison through the rowdy streets of Dublin to a city shelter. Once inside, she spoke softly with the patrons, asking them about their lives and needs, until she determined who would most benefit from Aodhan’s power. Then, as the sun set on The Fair City, the young woman made her wishes.
